
Ohio Craft Museum, the only museum in the Midwest devoted to collecting and exhibiting fine craft exclusively is the place where you can witness the amazing art works by various renowned artists. A rotating schedule of exhibitions features glass and ceramics, fiber art, fine metal jewelry, art furniture and other objects.
The museum showcases the work by artists such as Thierry Martenon of France and Betty Scarpino of Indiana. Also, there are hand-woven wall art, rugs and throws. Glass works of Glass Eye Studio, a Seattle-based company are remarkable. Various versions of the world are captured within the glass globes. An Environmental Series which includes hurricanes, tornados, volcanoes and ocean creatures and Celestial Series (the stars, planets and sun images) are unusual and totally gaze-worthy. You’ll also find work by such nationally known artists as Josh Simpson, Mark Matthews and Cathy Richardson.
In addition, the museum houses the Craft Research Library and stages educational workshops and events for all ages. Ohio Craft Museum is a place where you’ll find works of artists who work in styles ranging from traditional twists and swirls to unusual imagery and patterning in a wide array of colors.
