At Aruba, you don’t have to worry about the hurricanes and storms because these colorful islands lie well outside the hurricane belt. You can visit at any time of the year although the tourist season here is from December through April. The rainy season is from October to January but it rains here only for short spells. Aruba is a Dutch colony and has been under the Royal Dutch Kingdom for the last 350 years. The capital is Oranjestad, a shopper’s paradise with malls, boutiques and shops in plenty. Go Dutch by shopping for designer wear, pottery, Swiss watches, cameras, perfumes, designer jewellery and beauty products.

To the south of Oranjestad is the Queen Beatrix International Airport. You can find accommodation in the hotels around the Palm Beach and Eagle Beach which are not very far from the airport. Accommodation in the island is believed to be very comfortable and on par with international standards. You can move around the city in taxis and buses - they are more economical.
Food served in the hotels is mostly South American with touches of the Caribbean, African and European. Seafood is available in plenty. A popular eatery is the Salt & Pepper restaurant.
