California’s Santa Cruz Beach is all set for celebrations as the West Coast’s oldest seaside amusement park completes its 100 years. About 3 million people visit the park every year.

The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is California’s oldest amusement park and a designated State Historic Landmark. Home to 1911 Charles I. D. Looff Carousel and 1924 Giant Dipper roller coaster, the Boardwalk is owned and operated by the Santa Cruz Seaside Company since 1915.

Two of the boardwalk’s revered attractions one a hand-carved carousel dating from 1911 and a 1924 wooden coaster dubbed the Giant Dipper still remain its most popular.

During its 100 years, the park once witnessed woolen bloomers and crawdad crawling contests, which have now given way to bikinis and laser tag, however the nostalgia on tap at California’s Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk as the West Coast’s oldest seaside amusement park still remains.

The celebrations will include free bands-on-the-beach concerts that will be held every Friday from June 22 to August 31 will feature performers from the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s. Another big attraction will be the roller coaster as its rides on Mondays and Tuesday, June 25 through Aug 28, tickets will be available for just 15 cents, the price of 1924. Today it’s for $4.50.
