The Empire State Building, familiar to all of us forming the perfect backdrop in many popular movies and standing tall unmistakably against the skyline of one of the most happening cities in the world.

The building has its top tower lit in various colours like red, green , yellow, white or lavender as per the day of the year, say red is for Valentine’s Day. Located on 350 Fifth avenue at the 34th street , the Empire State Building is the best place to enjoy a great view of the city. The view from the 86th floor of the building which is at a height of 1,050 feet or still further up at a height of 1224 feet from 102nd floor is simply breathtaking. The ticket to the 82nd floor can be purchased online so that the long queues can be circumvented, but for the ticket to the 102nd floor one has to be there in person and purchase it from the 2nd floor of the empire state Building itself.
It is open to visitors from 8am to 2am with 1.15am being the last elevator for the day. An admission fee of $16 for adults, $14 for those in the age group of 12-17 and also for the senior citizens, $12 for children in the age group of 6-11, $14 for military personnel with a valid Id card is charged for entry to the 86th floor observatory. Entry is free for children below the age of 6 and for military personnel in uniform. An extra $14 is charged for entry to the 102nd floor of the building. The view from top of this magnificent structure is truly mesmerizing .
