Cardon- The World’s Tallest Cactus
If you are heading to the Sonora Desert in Baja California, you can’t afford to miss the World’s Tallest Cactus. According the Guiness World Records 2007 edition, cardon (Pachycereus pringlet), it is the tallest of the tall. It is nearly 70 feet tall and lives upto hundred years.
However, you can mistake this giant cactus for the ecologically similar saguaro cactus which is the universal symbol of the American West. Saguaro is the tallest in the United States, according to the U.S. post office stamp. You can see the abundance of saguaros at the Saguaro National Park near Tucson, Arizona.
