Seems the world has gone crazy for the massive pools. Trouncing all the record holders in the swimming pool category, the San Alfonso pool in Chile has been acknowledged by Guinness World Records as being the world’s largest swimming pool. It’s an artificial lagoon and absolutely immense pool that is 1 km long and covers eight hectares. Moreover, it contains an incredible 250,000 cubic meters of water. The clear water artificial lagoons, transparent to a depth of 35 meters and unparalleled design and construction methods of the pool are the brainchild of Crystal Lagoons founder, biochemist and Chilean businessman Fernando Fischmann. This artificial lagoon and swimming pool is already drawing the crowds but its details of technology are yet to be unveiled which will be done for the first time at Cityscape Dubai later this month.
