Being in the outdoors is a great way to get away from the hustle bustle of the city or the ‘real world’. Ogden, Utah is one of the small towns which allows it’s residents enjoy the great outdoors. You can jet ski, kayak, play paintball, mountain bike or even climb if you like.
Big SUVs loaded with gear and packed with people are headed to Ogden, Utah for various outdoor activities. Some even drive 90 miles all the way from Provo or further just to enjoy the awesome Utah outdoors.

Some people get to Utah just to mountain bike. This is a challenging but not very life threatening sport. There’s a wide selection of bike trails from easy to hard and from double to single tracks. There are mountain bike trails like the Skyline trail, Antelope Island State Park, Meuller Park trail and wheeler creek trail. This is a pretty cheap activity. The only investment is the bike itself.

Besides biking, Ogden witnesses hordes of climbers every year. With the world class mountaineer Jeff Lowe trying to open up his project called Tower of Ice that should attract ice climbers to this area. Ogden also has other bolted routes and a lot of traditional crack climbs as well as mix routes.

Kayaking is yet another aspect of this town. If you are a water person, then this is your thing. You can also do some white water rafting in this area. Ogden’s Rodeo Park is Kayaker’s paradise. There are all sorts of rapids. You can try your skills on a class 5 rapid if you want!
The best season is between April to June. The Weber River between Mt.Green and Highway 98 is the place to be for extreme whitewater rafting! One of the paddlers in the kayak park Craig Haaser(age 44) mentions:
Ogden is rocking right now
People like Jeff Lowe moved here from Boulder, Colorado for some of the great outdoors. Having experienced the great outdoors back in Bozeman, Montana (a similar town like Ogden) I know how neat mountain living can be personally. Ogden has become a Mecca for outdoor lovers throughout the US. So if you are up for the challenge, come on down to Ogden, Utah to enjoy the great challenges of mother nature.
