Nez Perce National Historical Park located at north-central Washington contains 38 sites that are considered as some of the most spectacular in North America. The history and culture of the Nez Perce Indian country are preserved, memorialized, and interpreted here. The Nez Perce National Historical Park, administered by the National Park Service, has two main Visitor Centers, one at Park Headquarters in Spalding, Idaho, 11 miles east of Lewiston and the other at Big Hole National Battlefield, 10 miles west of Wisdom, Montana.
History tells us that Nez Perce tribe has been part of this countryside since their inception or until the time when world recognized the tribe. The museums at Park Headquarters in Spalding, Idaho and Big Hole National Battlefield in Wisdom, Montana are the worth visiting. The exhibits tell us the tale of the Nez Perce through the stuffs they made and used in prehistoric era (10,000 years). These objects symbolize the beliefs, cultures and the spirituality of Nez Perce.
