Kermit the Frog exhibit is attracting large number of people. Every year lots of people go to Leland just to view the Frog exhibit. Named Birthplace of the Frog: An Exhibit of Jim Henson’s Delta Boyhood, it was given by Jim Henson Company as a gift to the people of Leland.

The Kermit exhibit features a tableau honoring Kermit the Frog’s birth on Deer Creek, photographs from the Henson family album, a video center with many of Jim Henson’s early works and a gift shop.

The main room is filled with Muppet memorabilia that features hundreds of donated items. There are the Swamp Kermit scene from the Muppet Movie, a viewing area showcasing episodes of The Muppet Show and other works of Henson.

Puppets from Henson’s The Song of the Cloud Forest, a segment from one of his TV shows is the recent addition to the exhibit. Also, there are brightly colored frogs and alligators that Jim Henson Foundation has given on loan.

Other items that are on display are McDonald’s Happy Meal toys, plush Kermit and Miss Piggy dolls, and vintage Muppet lunch boxes. A special case devoted to Muppet Babies and Sesame Street is also there. Not only this, you can buy things such as hand-puppets and T-shirts from a gift shop at the exhibit.

Admission Fees:
There is no admission fee and tours for 10 or more people are available upon request.

Location:
The Exhibit is located on the bank of Deer Creek, one and a half miles west of the intersection of Hwy. 82 and Hwy. 61.
