Would you like to stay in a dog’s tummy and see what a dog’s life is? If you are a family of canine-lovers, I’m sure your answer would be positive. If you are visiting Idaho for a vacation, make sure that you include Dog Bark Park Inn in your itinerary if staying in unusual places fascinates you.

Outside of a dog, a book is a man’s best friend:and inside a dog, it’s too dark to read.

How’s this different? The dog bark park inn is an unusual bread and breakfast guesthouse which is built in the shape of a huge beagle. There are two actually; Toby and Sweet lily.Basically you enter the dog through a staircase in its back-end and find yourself inside the tummy where you have a spacious bed and if you are in a mood to read, you can snuggle up in a cozy nook created in the dog’s face which also doubles up as additional accommodation if you have guests with you.

It is run by animal-loving couple Dennis J. Sullivan, a self-taught chainsaw artist, and Frances, his wife who carved wooden dogs and used all the money from it to build the dog-park. Canine carvings are a specialty although visitors are apt to find fish, feline, bear, moose and Lewis & Clark themed carvings as well. They also work from your pet’s photos to create similar carvings or you could buy a piece of art from their studios if you are interested in taking home a memorabilia.

Your stay there will cost you $88/night includes breakfast for double occupancy and $ 8 per additional person. Don’t expect a television and a phone there as the couple believe that guests should enjoy the place rather than being glued to the idiot box.
