
Assateague Island is one of very few places still unspoiled along the East coast. You can join a popular marine eco-tour which offers a chance to see more of the refuge and wildlife by boat. An eco voyage is often the best way to encounter peregrine falcons, sandpipers, egrets, osprey, terns, gulls, waterfowl and wild ponies.
Besides natural beauty and wildlife, the island offers many recreational opportunities such as four wheel driving on the beach, seashell collecting along sands, swimming, surf fishing, beach hiking and much more!
