Boston Art Museum launches wireless download service for fine-art lovers

Boston Art Museum, one of the largest museums in the United States that contains the largest permanent museum collections in America has come up with MFA Mobile program. Developed by Hill Holliday, MFA Mobile allows users to wirelessly download works of art from the Museum’s collection. Users also will get to see Japanese postcards and other works that are not often displayed in exhibit halls. Art fans can buy a single image for $1.99 or choose a $4.99 per month subscription plan that includes up to five images and a bonus exclusive image of the month. John Singer Sargent’s The Daughters of Edward Darley Boit, (1882), Gilbert Stuart’s George Washington, (1796), Edward Hopper’s Lighthouse and Buildings, Portland Head, Cape Elizabeth, Maine, (1927), and Pierre-Auguste Renoir’s Dance at Bougival, 1883 are among the present 50 offerings from museum’s collection and there are plans to add more. The MFA mobile program is a great step towards allowing art fans who might otherwise not visit the Museum appreciate these works of art. Image Credit Source: Physorg
