Twisting and turning, upside down and round, I simply love the ecstasy of amusement parks. Disneyland might be the first name that strikes your head while you think of an amusement park. But, do you know what inspired your much loved Disneyland? Yes, it was the Tivoli gardens, one of the oldest amusement parks that has been operating for over 150 years.

The Tivoli Gardens has almost everything to blow your minds, whether we talk of the roller coaster, ferris wheel, carnival games, or the traditional folk dances. It has a large concert hall that hosts symphony orchestras and ballet troupes. Not only this, 115,000 flowers blossom throughout the park that adds to its beauty.

The park is best known for its wooden roller coaster Rutchebanen, which is one of world’s oldest wooden roller coasters
. There are restaurants, 26 rides, a pantomime theater, an open-air stage and a Chinese pagoda in the park. Bandstands around the park entertain with Jazz and Classical performances.

At night, lamplight illuminates Tivoli’s vast gardens. The evening lamplight is wonderful, as it gives a completely different perspective from daytime park strolling.

Tivoli’s flower beds are colorful throughout the year, but the best time to visit is late spring, when many wonderful flowers bloom throughout the park.

Opening Time:

Tivoli Gardens opens at 11am, and closing times depend on the season.

Location:

Tivoli is across the street from Copenhagen’s Central Railway Station, between Bernstorffsgade and H.C. Andersen Boulevard. A parking garage is at its north corner.
